• Suwon Hwaseong

      Step back into Korea’s Joseon Dynasty at Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its impressive stone walls, gates, and watchtowers. Built in the late 18th century, the fortress beautifully blends traditional Korean architecture with advanced military engineering of its time. Walking along the fortress walls offers scenic views and a deep sense of Korea’s royal history.

• Hwaseong Haenggung Palace

Hwaseong Haenggung Palace is the largest temporary palace in Korea, built in 1789 by King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty. It served as a royal residence when the king visited his father’s tomb and stayed in Suwon. The palace was also used for official events, military ceremonies, and royal gatherings. Today, visitors can explore its beautifully restored buildings, peaceful courtyards, and traditional architecture, offering a glimpse into Korea’s royal history and daily life during the Joseon era.

• Hanglidan gil

      Just outside the fortress lies Haengnidan-gil, one of Suwon’s trendiest streets.
